Remodel Project - Brooks/Mills

The picture on the left is the original church building. It is called Brooks and is named after Preston Brooks, who donated land to our church in 1915, possibly earlier. It was the gathering place for the church from 1915-1989. Though once a wonderful place for worship, over the years it has become unusable. The building does not need to be torn down, as the general structure is in great shape. However, it does need to be completely renovated. The picture on the right is the vision of what that space is going to become. We are working with Bluefoot Architecture and Design from Poulsbo as we make preparations to renovate early 2025! The existing footprint will not change significantly. The biggest change will be adding a second story above what is currently Mills Hall (not visible in the old picture). The first floor of Mills will become a dedicated youth room, which will give our growing youth ministry a meeting place of their own. The second floor of Mills will have four staff offices. The gathering space that is Brooks will decrease in size slightly and will be a beautiful space for events, Sunday school, AWANA, etc. A visible entrance from the street, welcome space, secretary's office, copy center, bathrooms, kitchen, janitor's closet, storage, and stairs round out the first floor. A remodeled Brooks/Mills will give us a great space for youth, improved space for weekly operations, a beautiful space for worship, events, ministry needs, and sufficient office space for current needs and future growth. It will be efficient and functional while retaining its character and charm. The estimated cost of the project is $3 million. You can give towards this project by donating to our Capital Development fund. The easiest way is through our secure online giving.
